With the mission of "creating a society where everyone can be themselves," Ryochin is building places where people from inside and outside the village connect. A healthcare professional, he worked as a physical therapist at medical institutions, care facilities for the elderly, home-visit nursing stations and day-care services in Osaka, and until March 2022 was the director of a private elderly care home. In April 2022 he began living between Higashiyoshino Village and Sakai, Osaka, and opened a guesthouse that August. Drawing on his work experience, he also tackles the village's aging-population issues, supporting care providers in Higashiyoshino and elsewhere in Nara, and helping residents with shopping and everyday problems.
