A born traveler who has kept traveling since university. Starting with a trip across the United States, he went down the great rivers of the Amazon and wandered through Mexico. After returning to Japan, he set up a share house in Nishinari, Osaka, and with the motto "we make our own place," built a place to live together with friends. He is now also involved in restoring old folk houses and running a campsite, aiming to create not just a place to stay but a place where you can return to the days you'd almost forgotten. Making things with your own hands leads to the joy of living, and living in touch with the soil, feeling the wind and sharpening all five senses brings back the innocence we'd almost lost to convention. His life's work is to use what he's learned from travel to update the sense of what richness means, together with the people who visit. Hobbies Remembering a route instantly, sleeping anywhere, making friends with anyone
