I want to be self-sufficient! What would you NOT need on a deserted island if that's your goal?
On a deserted island, you can be free in mind and body.
In the second part, we focused on the frequently asked question, "If you were chosen, what would you bring to a deserted island?"
First, when asked about "things you can live without," the seasoned survivor of the deserted island gave a wild answer.
This might be surprising, but I'd say underwear. (laughs) On a deserted island, I think underwear is like a topknot or a necktie – essentially useless.
If you're still wearing them because they're stylish or as underwear, I understand, but if you're wearing them just for everyday use, then they're unnecessary. That's how free you can be on a deserted island, without worrying about anyone's gaze.

With a little ingenuity, any environment can be made comfortable.
More practically speaking, the CEO's firm belief is that tents are unnecessary.
This way, the joy of building a house disappears. You deliberately go to inconvenient places to find value, so the very act of building a house is the real pleasure.
When I feel it's humid and unpleasant, I want to build a raised-floor house in a well-ventilated area. It's also better to spend time together if we create a place for everyone to gather. If I notice there are many mosquitoes, I might burn medicinal herbs to drive them away, or build a kitchen and a hearth.
If you're going with multiple people, it's even more recommended to leave the tents behind so you can all share in the hardships while chattering away together.
Let's bring the "tools" to make a tent, not the tent itself.
Using wit and weapons to live out one's own style of life on a deserted island.
So, what would be good to bring along?
When it comes to where to stay, you'll have more fun if you have tools to make a tent rather than the tent itself.
In the past, some people have brought machete knives, like those used by tribes in the Philippines, that can be used as both a machete and a knife.
When you arrive on a deserted island with "tribal wisdom" rather than the "tools of civilization," the possibilities for creating something with what you find there become endless.
Thorough prior research
However, it's also important to keep in mind that some things can be made with what's available on a deserted island, and others cannot.
In the first place, when it's very difficult to get fresh water, you need a pot, and if bamboo is growing, you can start a fire easily with bamboo. Ultimately, you can create a pot with your wits, but it's quite a high level of difficulty.
Some things you can only know once you get there, but you need to be careful as the necessary items can change depending on the information you have beforehand.
In an empty space, it's important to decide "who" you'll accomplish "what" with.
How can I be of service to my comrades?
"What should I bring?" is a classic question, but what's important is what you want to *do* there.
"Since we're going to fulfill our desires, we'll pack only the bare minimum necessary. For example, if a chef wants to cook with what's available on the island, all they really need is a knife," says the representative.

If you're going with other people, consider "how you want to shine among everyone." Since three is practically none, it's best to bring something you can enjoy.
It was striking how they explained that it's difficult to answer the question "What would you bring to a deserted island?" precisely because there's a belief that the value of a deserted island lies in how ingeniously one can utilize its limited resources.
Finally
How was it?
We interviewed the representative of TRAPOL in three parts—the first, middle, and last—about their thoughts on a deserted island. Because they have visited many times and experienced both the joys and hardships, they strongly believe in the powerful energy of people.
In fact, TRAPOL offers a plan where you can experience a deserted island survival with me.
